Terms & Conditions

Supports for Great Tables

Please read these Terms & Conditions before placing an order.

These Terms & Conditions apply to orders placed with Table Bases UK for table bases and related products.

Table Bases UK primarily supplies products to business customers. By placing an order, you confirm that you are purchasing in the course of your business, trade or profession, unless we have expressly agreed otherwise.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before ordering. By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review these terms.

1. Checking Your Order Requirements

Customers are responsible for checking the suitability and specification of products before placing an order.

Please check the following carefully:

  • Product type and model

  • Dimensions and overall height

  • Finish and colour

  • Quantity required

  • Compatibility with the intended tabletop

  • Suitability for the intended use

  • Indoor or outdoor suitability, as applicable

If you are unsure whether a table base is suitable for your tabletop, installation or intended application, please contact Table Bases UK before ordering.

Where technical information is required, customers should ensure that the product specification meets their particular requirements.

2. Product Images, Colours and Finishes

Product photographs, illustrations and descriptions on our website are provided to help customers identify and select products. Images are illustrative and may not reproduce the exact appearance of the supplied item.

Colours may appear differently depending on screen settings, lighting conditions and display equipment.

Natural materials may vary in colour, grain, texture and appearance. Similarly, painted, plated, polished and other finished surfaces may exhibit minor variations arising from the materials and manufacturing processes used.

Such variations are not necessarily defects, provided the goods otherwise conform to the agreed description and applicable specification.

Customers requiring a particular colour, appearance or finish should contact us before placing an order.

3. Metal Products and Chrome Finishes

Metal table bases and components may exhibit minor surface variations, manufacturing lines, marks or other characteristics associated with fabrication, casting, polishing, plating or finishing.

The appearance of a product will depend on its material, manufacturing method and specified finish.

Minor cosmetic variations are not necessarily defects where they are consistent with the agreed product specification and the nature of the finish.

If a specific cosmetic standard or appearance is essential for a project, customers should discuss their requirements with us before ordering.

4. Cast Iron Table Bases

Cast iron table bases commonly have a textured surface, and minor variations in casting, surface texture and finish may occur during manufacture.

Different materials and finishes, including chrome, satin chrome, brass-effect and aluminium finishes, have their own characteristic appearances.

Customers should consider these characteristics when selecting products for their intended application.

Normal material characteristics do not automatically constitute defects. However, this clause does not exclude responsibility for goods that fail to meet the agreed specification or any applicable legal requirements.

5. Special Finishes and Colour Matching

Where a special finish or colour has been requested, the product will be supplied in accordance with the agreed specification and the applicable manufacturing or finishing process.

Exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.

Customers requiring a precise colour match, including a match to an existing product, sample or colour reference, should contact us before ordering to establish whether the requirement can be accommodated.

Any agreed special finish or colour specification should be confirmed in writing before the order is placed or accepted.

6. Product Design and Manufacturer Changes

Our products may be manufactured by third-party manufacturers and suppliers.

Manufacturers may make changes to product design, dimensions, construction, components or finishes from time to time.

Where a change is made, the product supplied may differ in certain respects from an earlier model, photograph or previously supplied item.

We will use reasonable care to ensure that products supplied correspond to the description and specification agreed for the order. We will notify customers of material changes where we are aware of them and where notification is appropriate.

Customers for whom exact conformity to a particular model, dimension, component or illustration is essential should obtain written confirmation of the relevant specification before ordering.

7. Outdoor Use and Maintenance

Only products identified as suitable for outdoor use should be used outdoors. OUTDOOR PRODUCTS ARE ALSO SUBECT TO WEATHERING.

Outdoor products may be affected by exposure to rain, moisture, sunlight, temperature changes, coastal conditions, pollution and other environmental factors.

Weathering, discolouration, corrosion or other deterioration may occur over time, depending on the material, finish, environment and maintenance.

Customers are responsible for following the manufacturer’s care, cleaning and maintenance recommendations and for assessing the suitability of a product for its intended environment.

Unless expressly stated in the product specification or agreed in writing, we do not guarantee that a product will remain unchanged in appearance under all outdoor conditions.

This clause does not exclude any applicable product warranty or rights relating to goods that fail to meet the agreed specification.

8. Payment Terms

Payment must be made using a payment method offered or agreed at the time of ordering.

Available payment methods may include bank transfer and credit or debit card, where supported. Other payment arrangements must be agreed in advance.

Unless we have expressly agreed credit terms or another payment arrangement in writing, payment must be received and cleared before goods are dispatched.

Where payment is made by cheque, dispatch will normally take place only after the cheque has cleared.

We reserve the right to delay dispatch where payment has not been received in accordance with the agreed payment terms.

9. Prices and VAT

Unless expressly stated otherwise, prices displayed on our website are exclusive of VAT and delivery charges.

Applicable VAT and delivery charges will be shown or confirmed during the ordering process or in the order confirmation.

Prices may change without prior notice. A price change will not alter an order that we have already accepted, except where a correction or adjustment is permitted by the agreed terms or applicable law.

The price applicable to an order will be the price confirmed when the order is accepted.

10. Delivery Times and Availability

For products held in stock, delivery is normally estimated at approximately 3–10 days.

For non-stock, made-to-order or specially sourced products, delivery may take approximately 4–6 weeks or longer, depending on the product, manufacturer and availability.

All delivery periods are estimates unless a specific delivery date or period has been expressly agreed in writing.

Delivery may be affected by stock availability, manufacturing schedules, supplier delays, transport arrangements and circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If we become aware of a significant delay or that a product is unavailable, we will notify the customer and, where appropriate, discuss the expected lead time or available alternatives.

Customers with fixed installation dates or project deadlines should contact us before ordering and obtain written confirmation of any delivery commitment that is essential to their project.

11. Delivery Charges

Delivery to business addresses in most areas of mainland UK is charged at £49 for orders below £500, with free delivery on orders over £500, unless otherwise stated or agreed.

The applicable order threshold is based on the qualifying order value confirmed by Table Bases UK. Any exclusions or special delivery arrangements will be communicated where applicable.

Additional delivery charges may apply to certain locations, including parts of Scotland and London, as well as destinations that require special transport arrangements.

Delivery charges may also vary according to the size, weight, quantity and destination of the goods.

Any additional delivery charge applicable to an order will be confirmed before the order is processed or the additional charge is incurred.

12. Delivery Access and Restrictions

Customers must inform Table Bases UK of any delivery restrictions or access requirements when placing their order.

These may include:

  • Parking restrictions or loading limitations

  • Restricted access roads

  • Vehicle weight or height restrictions

  • Restrictions affecting vans, 7.5-tonne vehicles or articulated lorries

  • Restricted loading or unloading areas

  • Limited delivery hours or site access requirements

Customers should ensure that the delivery address is suitable for the vehicle and delivery service arranged.

Where undisclosed restrictions prevent or delay delivery, additional costs reasonably incurred as a result may be charged to the customer, where permitted by the agreed terms and applicable law.

If you are unsure whether your premises can accommodate the delivery vehicle, please contact us before ordering.

13. Delivery Location and Unloading

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, deliveries are made to the ground-floor loading area, an accessible delivery point or kerbside, as appropriate to the delivery service.

Standard delivery does not normally include carrying goods into a building, upstairs delivery, installation or internal positioning.

Customers are responsible for arranging suitable personnel and equipment to receive, unload and move the goods where these services are not included in the agreed delivery arrangement.

Any special handling, installation or alternative delivery arrangements must be agreed in advance and may incur additional charges.

14. Inspecting Deliveries and Reporting Problems

Customers should inspect deliveries as soon as reasonably practicable after receipt.

Missing items, incorrect goods and apparent transit damage should be reported to Table Bases UK in writing within 48 hours of delivery, where possible, so that we can investigate promptly and liaise with the carrier or supplier where necessary.

Please include your order number, a description of the issue and photographs where relevant.

Customers should retain the original packaging until any delivery issue has been investigated and resolved.

The 48-hour reporting period is intended to help us deal with delivery problems efficiently. It does not automatically remove any rights or remedies available under applicable law, including in respect of defects that could not reasonably have been identified on delivery.

15. Goods Damaged in Transit

If goods arrive damaged, please notify us in writing as soon as possible and, where possible, within 48 hours of delivery.

Please provide photographs of the damaged product and its packaging if requested, and retain the packaging until we advise otherwise.

Do not return damaged goods unless we have provided instructions.

Once we have investigated the matter, we will explain the appropriate next steps. Depending on the circumstances, this may include replacement, repair, collection, refund or another suitable resolution in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable law.

Reporting a problem promptly helps us resolve it efficiently. Nothing in this clause excludes any remedy to which a customer is legally entitled.

16. Returns and Exchanges

Returns and exchanges are subject to our separate Refund & Returns Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms & Conditions before ordering.

As a business-to-business supplier, Table Bases UK does not offer an automatic right to return correctly supplied goods simply because a customer has changed their mind, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Returns of standard, non-customised products require our prior agreement and must comply with the applicable returns policy.

Made-to-order, customised and specially finished products are generally not eligible for return or exchange where they have been supplied in accordance with the agreed specification, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.

Nothing in this clause limits any applicable rights or remedies relating to goods that are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fail to conform to the agreed contract.

17. Customised and Made-to-Order Products

Some products may be manufactured, modified, sourced or specially finished to meet a customer’s requirements.

This may include:

  • Bespoke dimensions or heights

  • Customer-selected finishes or special colours

  • Non-standard configurations

  • Specially sourced products

  • Other bespoke modifications

Customers are responsible for checking and confirming all relevant measurements, specifications and requirements before the order is accepted.

Where a customised specification has been agreed in writing, that specification will form part of the order.

Products manufactured or finished to an agreed bespoke specification cannot normally be cancelled, returned or exchanged merely because the customer changes their mind, subject to the agreed contract and applicable law.

If you are uncertain about any aspect of a bespoke order, please contact us before confirming your requirements.

18. Assembly and Installation

Some products, including table bases and associated furniture components, may require assembly or installation before use.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, assembly, installation and fixing services are not included in the purchase price. Tools and fixing components are supplied only where specified in the product description or agreed in writing.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that products are assembled and installed correctly, following any manufacturer’s instructions supplied.

For table bases, particular care should be taken to ensure that the base is compatible with the intended tabletop, appropriately secured and suitable for the intended application.

Customers should ensure that the assembled table is stable and safe for its intended use before putting it into service.

Where the suitability of a base, tabletop, fixing arrangement or installation method is uncertain, customers should seek appropriate technical advice before use.

Table Bases UK accepts no responsibility for damage or injury caused by incorrect assembly, unsuitable combinations of components or improper installation, to the extent that such damage or injury results from those circumstances and the exclusion is permitted by applicable law.
